Hythlodaeus doesn't last long afterwards, grasping into Emet-Selch's hip as he comes with a groan. Panting, he lets his hips wind down their movements until he's fully satisfied, before he pulls out once more and sets his gaze upon the mess he's left his lover in.
Good. He looks exquisite like this, and he commits the sight to memory before smoothing his hands down his backside. "Would you like to lie down now?" He asks it casually, as though he's still going to consider if he actually lets him or not.
Again Emet-Selch feels his whole body tremble as Hythlodaeus finishes in him. It's the best ending he can think of, really, and he'd been so very close to ruining that for himself by taking it too far!
He definitely just wants to melt into the mattress now but will not argue with whatever Hythlodaeus wants to "prove" to him next. "Yes, if you'll stay with me..." His body can actually probably use the break and the rest but he doesn't care about that.
"You will be hard pressed to get rid of me." Lying down, he pats the bed before finally deciding to shed his own clothing- all the better to be close to Emet-Selch.
"But I'm hoping that you would not wish for such a thing..." There's a dangerous lilt to his voice, but if Emet-Selch catches his eyes he will note genuine anxiety there. He doesn't know why he's so convinced now of all times that Emet-Selch will find someone else, but he simply can't shake it no matter how rational he tries to be.
And that irritates him. He was so content before- what changed?
"I have no desire to be rid of you, Hythlodaeus." Emet-Selch gladly takes his spot on te bed, watching his lover discard his own clothing at last and opening his arms to Hythlodaeus once he's finished.
"I have not and will not ever wish for it." He promises him. After all, this is the man who missed his friend so much he made a replica of him in his little replica of a city. Sentimental to a fault, as they all say.
All of this was really quite fun and felt amazing, he thinks. But he hardly wants it to happen again if Hythlodaeus is going to feel such uncertainty. "Any way I can prove it to you, I will."
He closes his eyes in Emet-Selch's arms, burying his face in his neck. After a moment, he speaks.
"I do not know what has come over me. But ever since seeing you with that man at the picnic, I... I feel a burning jealousy inside of me."
He holds him tighter, as if he could keep him in his arms forever and away from anyone who might seek to take him away. "I should know that you would not leave me, and yet I cannot make myself believe it."
At least, not for the moment. He'll feel foolish once this is all over with, but for right now the reassurance is sorely needed.
"Hm," Emet-Selch hums thoughtfully. "He truly was of no significance." But if Hythlodaeus is feeling so strongly and there seems to be no convincing him fully right now, it can really only mean that once again this city is messing with them. "Perhaps something in the food as usual."
But he lets Hythlodaeus hold him, placing gentle kisses against his face and collar bones.
"How could I leave you, when you are everything I need."
"The food?" He frowns, then nods. "I did eat at the picnic. How cruel..." And yet, he still feels uneasy.
Though, Emet-Selch's words soothe him somewhat. He presses a kiss to his neck, sighing a little at himself. "I know you speak true, and yet my heart still feels troubled... would you stay with me until this passes? I could not bear the thought you of out there, speaking with others while I am like this..."
Emet-Selch nods slowly, eyebrows furrowed a little bit. If he could, he would destroy them for making Hythlodaeus feel this way, no second thoughts about it.
"Of course I'm going to stay with you." Not to mention he's rather physically exhausted. Going back out to a social event sounds awful, in fact. "Though I won't be blamed if I end up falling asleep." He's warm and content and tired, it's very likely. But he won't move much from his current spot at all if he can help it. He's quite happy to show Hythlodaeus he has no interest in anyone else.
"Good..." He could fall asleep quite easily himself, he's sure. It's exhausting, being a jealous mess.
"Perhaps when we wake, the effect will have passed." He rubs his hand along Emet-Selch's back. "Though it will not mean I want you any less."
Emet-Selch had said as much himself- he was enjoying being coveted. "I have always desired you... I am simply usually more content in the knowledge that your heart is mine." Laid back as Hythlodaeus usually is, he doesn't see others as competition because he knows Emet-Selch loves him.
"I shall hope for it." He tells Hythlodaeus softly. Fun as this was, he wants Hythlodaeus to feel like himself.
He smiles at him gently. "The same goes for me. It is utterly impossible for me to want you less." If the two of them had endured in one another's heart and soul for lifetimes, he's not worried that it will disappear anytime soon. In fact, as he lies next to Hythlodaeus watching him, he feels as though his heart may burst with love.
"My heart will always be yours. But I will say it was nice to see such a side of you. Especially since I have felt it as well." Despite being so sure in Hythlodaeus' feelings for him, he is pretty prickly about it if someone else gets a little too close. That's just his personality really.
He's noticed that Emet-Selch gets jealous at times, but having never been the jealous type himself he'd never really known how it felt. Perhaps he should be more careful, for Emet-Selch's sake, so that he needn't feel that way. Still, he leans in for a brief kiss.
"Hades... I have loved you for as long as I can remember. Why do you think I could never settle with a partner even during our days in Amaurot? 'Tis true I am perhaps the flighty sort... but I think it was partially because nobody else could take your place. The same holds true, even now. I may become close to others, but none will compare to you."
He would never have been content with someone else, not when all he could think of was Emet-Selch.
There's probably no cure to how Emet-Selch gets possessive. It's just something he has always been, longing to covet Hythlodaeus completely to himself. At one point he probably also felt similarly to Azem. In fact it's his turn to be a little clingy after the kiss, burying his face into the crook of Hythlodaeus's neck protectively.
"I know that, it's the principle of the thing really." He complains into Hythlodaeus' shoulder, hugging him close. "I know your heart is mine but the thought of sharing you with the unworthy..." Unbearable. Horrific.
He can understand how Emet-Selch feels, but he still chuckles warmly all the same.
"And what defines unworthiness? Is there a test I must be making sure my prospective partners pass?" He squeezes Hades tight, wrapping himself around him as best as he can.
"Ah, but the thought of being with anyone but you right now is... unpleasant. As is the thought of you being with another. So let us think of sweet things, and rest."
He keeps Emet-Selch close as he closes his eyes. "Rest well, my love."
"There are none worthy," He insists, perhaps sounding a bit petulant, but he means it. Not in their world or any other does anyone deserve Hythlodaeus. He's sure he doesn't even deserve him either but they don't need to have that conversation.
But he relaxes a bit then as they decide to think of better things. And rest does sound very inviting. "Mm," He hums, loosening his grip on Hythlodaeus a little but of course not completely.
"You as well, Hythlodaeus." If he doesn't, Emet-Selch will worry after him all day.
