There's probably no cure to how Emet-Selch gets possessive. It's just something he has always been, longing to covet Hythlodaeus completely to himself. At one point he probably also felt similarly to Azem. In fact it's his turn to be a little clingy after the kiss, burying his face into the crook of Hythlodaeus's neck protectively.
"I know that, it's the principle of the thing really." He complains into Hythlodaeus' shoulder, hugging him close. "I know your heart is mine but the thought of sharing you with the unworthy..." Unbearable. Horrific.
He can understand how Emet-Selch feels, but he still chuckles warmly all the same.
"And what defines unworthiness? Is there a test I must be making sure my prospective partners pass?" He squeezes Hades tight, wrapping himself around him as best as he can.
"Ah, but the thought of being with anyone but you right now is... unpleasant. As is the thought of you being with another. So let us think of sweet things, and rest."
He keeps Emet-Selch close as he closes his eyes. "Rest well, my love."
"There are none worthy," He insists, perhaps sounding a bit petulant, but he means it. Not in their world or any other does anyone deserve Hythlodaeus. He's sure he doesn't even deserve him either but they don't need to have that conversation.
But he relaxes a bit then as they decide to think of better things. And rest does sound very inviting. "Mm," He hums, loosening his grip on Hythlodaeus a little but of course not completely.
"You as well, Hythlodaeus." If he doesn't, Emet-Selch will worry after him all day.
